In the main arena there is climbing terrain to challenge all ages and abilities, with 46 top ropes in position and over 100 set routes (over 80% are leadable). The Y Climbing Centre is a welcoming environment and a social hub for local and international visitors – beginners and experienced climbers alike.

There’s even a café serving their own signature blend of locally roasted coffee, and a pro shop for apparel and gear. Bouldering at Uprising is an indoor adventure sport activity. It’s fitness in disguise, challenging and fun for both muscles and the mind.
The Mayfair Arts & Culture Centre

Whakatāne Library and Exhibition Centre
The Whakatāne Museum houses over 600,000 items in its collections. This includes significant examples of Taonga Māori, a comprehensive collection of archival material from the Whakatāne District and the Bay of Plenty region, and an extensive photographic collection covering the physical and social history of the past century. Visit in person or online as they undertake a huge digitisation project to make more of the collection available online.
