Wild Wire Wanaka

Wanaka
All year round

If you can climb a ladder, you can do it!

Via Ferrata is the technical name for this climbing – which means ‘iron path’. It is a climbing route, built with steel rungs and cables that are fixed to the rock. It allows safe travel through vertical terrain which would otherwise be impossible. In the level 1 Lord of the Rungs you will climb 150m (500ft) vertical alongside cascading waterfalls, see exceptional mountain views, cross 4 suspension bridges including the final 30m (100ft) bridge and stay dry! You will need basic fitness and an adventurous spirit. This tour includes approximately 1 hour of climbing and a 20 minute walk down. Even the most height-fearful travellers surprise themselves and leave feeling accomplished.

Matariki 2023

Nationwide
Observed 14/07/23

Matariki is a time where people, whānau, and communities gather together to remember the year that has passed, to celebrate the present, and to plan for the next year. It is a time to remember our loved ones who are no longer with us, to feast and celebrate with our relatives and friends, and to look towards the future and the hope of a season full of bounty.
