Adult and children’s classes are individually taught in a group setting, over a nine week term, and they offer a variety of art tuition. Maybe start with an ABC class. These art classes are specifically for people who want to give it a go, with a group of like minded people. The classes provide an easy step by step painting structure which has been the hallmark of the Art Metro teaching programme for the last decade or so, and has enabled hundreds of Cantabrians to develop new creativity in their lives.

Aigantighe Art Gallery
The Aigantighe holds an extensive permanent collection of New Zealand and international art from the 16th century to the present day. Its collection of British Victorian paintings is particularly strong, while national favourites Charles Goldie, Frances Hodgkins and Colin McCahon are also very well represented.

Parnell Farmers Market & Craft Harvest Market
Parnell Farmers' Market has been open, rain or shine, every Saturday from 8am to 12 noon since 2007. They do take a few weekends off over Christmas and New Year's! Craft Harvest shares the same principles as Parnell Farmers’ Market. While the two markets are separate entities, both offer an excellent range of high quality product, sourced locally and sold by the makers and producers themselves.

Alliance Française
Teaching French to adults and children at all levels and a diverse programme of cultural activities throughout the year. Term classes run in 10 weeks blocks. As well as regular classes, a variety of special topic classes, language workshops (grammar and pronunciation), conversation groups and intensive classes available. Please note that we need at least 5 students to open a class.

The classes are for two hours. Uma will demonstrate two Indian vegetarian dishes. You will get the opportunity to taste them!
Two Raw Sisters
Sisters Rosa and Margo are the Two Raw Sisters. Based in Christchurch, the focus is making plants the centrepiece on every plate and adding protein on the side. All of their recipes are nutritionally approved, thanks to Rosa's qualifications as a registered nutritionist with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Nutrition). They have written best selling books all about minimizing the use of expensive ingredients, instead focusing on utilizing seasonal produce and everyday pantry staples. Classes available.
