Titirangi Potters runs a beginners pottery class in their studio on Thursday evenings 7 – 9pm. It is led by one of their members, and teaches basic techniques and creative exploration with clay. The cost for the 9 week course is $390 which includes teaching, as well as a student’s first clay requirements (10 kg – clay, glaze, x2 firings). A series of practical workshops for Rongoā Māori - Traditional Māori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Māori and non-Māori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (forest). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoā, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
