Term time

Explore and connect with your sense of self love, sexuality and body positivity in a safe space with a burlesque syllabus.

This syllabus is the first of its kind in the world, developed by the Ballet School Dropouts in 2019 to help raise the standard of burlesque learning in Aotearoa and beyond. The Emerald Course is your introduction to burlesque, where you will learn about the rich history of this wonderful art form. You’ll explore posture, posing, walking in heels and begin the discussion about the art of tease. The striptease technique they focus on in this course is glove and stocking peels.

There is also Prep School which is a four week introduction to burlesque movement. It’s all about learning confidence and style. You focus on balance and technique for walking and dancing in heels, posture and posing to bring out your inner showgirl, all topped off with some essential burlesque dance moves. No experience required. Levels go all the way to performance level.
