Become a member!

All members are able to enter the local art exhibitions held at beautiful art rooms on Gleniti Road. Membership provides a fun and friendly network of local artists who will support and encourage all artists and all art practices. The SCAS encourage you to join the outdoor sketching group held every fortnight. Local destinations are the order of the day and usually finish with a coffee and debrief at a local cafe. Or if the great outdoors is not for you, then come along to the weekly art Thursday group at the art rooms. This is a warm and inviting environment for artists of all levels of experience. Bring your lunch and get to know the wonderful members of this group.

A series of practical workshops for Rongoā Māori - Traditional Māori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Māori and non-Māori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (forest). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoā, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
