Focusing on people with physical or visual impairments, the team offers a variety of programmes and services to members including Para sports programmes, adaptive equipment, sports wheelchairs and children’s after-school programmes.

In addition, there are a number of non-sports based programmes such as hydrotherapy pool sessions and a taxi fare discounts programme. If you have always wanted to be involved in sport, but have been unsure where to start, then they are here to help you. ParaFed Canterbury and the Canterbury region has a proud history of providing athletes to the New Zealand Paralympic Games Teams.

Rongoā Māori

A series of practical workshops for Rongoā Māori - Traditional Māori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Māori and non-Māori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (forest). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoā, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
