Accessible only on foot or by boat, famous Cathedral Cove is one of the must-visit sites in the Coromandel.

The track begins at the northern end of Hahei. This popular track hugs the coast, providing dramatic views of spectacular coastal scenery along its length, finishing at the beach beneath an impressive rock archway. It is described as requiring moderate fitness with an undulating gradient and some steps. The walk from the carpark at the Hahei Village Entry Carpark on the outskirts of Hahei beach is approximately a 1.15 hr walk. From the top lookout it is a 10 minute walk to Gemstone Bay Snorkel Trail and approximately 45 mins one way to The Cove. Rapidly changing weather conditions can occur.
