Bethlehem Pottery Club

Bay of Plenty
Tues and Thurs 10am-1.30pm

Bethlehem Pottery Club is an incorporated society which has been operating since 1975. The club members are like-minded creative people who share a space and love working with clay. Many of our members are award-winning ceramic artists.

The studio is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays for daytime club sessions where members support others to learn new skills and techniques. Evening classes are run throughout the year. If you’re new to clay, or want to learn how to ‘throw’ on the wheel, there are classes to suit. Classes are very popular so book in advance as you may have to go on a waiting list. You can also pop in and view members works. Great gifts for the home or garden.

A series of practical workshops for Rongoā Māori - Traditional Māori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Māori and non-Māori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (forest). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoā, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
