Emma Zhang is a Warkworth based potter who grew up in Shenzhen, China. Rui is her Chinese name, meaning the first snow in spring. She is inspired by the beauty of the New Zealand landscape, particularly the beaches in Kawau Bay close to her home. When mixing her glazes, she is mindful of the earthy tones and sand, soil and sea. She runs workshops from her studio that share her joy and enthusiasm for a creative, expressive life.

To access the studio, simply head down the stairs between the Community Hall and the Community House (the track that links to Park Rd). The studio is located under the Community House.

The New Zealand Fashion Museum
