Book a free 45 minute appointment with one of their friendly librarians for help with topics such as: basic computer, smartphones and other devices skills, job searching, updating your CV or navigating government websites, downloading eBooks, eAudiobooks and library apps, emails, and family history research. The West Coast Justices of the Peace also run a service desk in the West Coast Room of the Library for members of the public who need their services. Closed Sundays. Hours may vary, check online.

Rongoā Māori

A series of practical workshops for Rongoā Māori - Traditional Māori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Māori and non-Māori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (forest). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoā, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
