Scenic Class wheelchair spaces have their own table with two seats for your companions and one huge panoramic window for you to enjoy. A second wheelchair space is conveniently situated on the other side of the aisle. Our wheelchair bays feature a headphone jack so that you can tune into audio commentary. When booking online, you can select your accessibility requirements within the contact details page. If you have any additional needs, then you can use the comments section to add any notes you think will help. All trains are fitted with lifts/hoists for step-free access and have accessible seating.

Rongoā Māori

A series of practical workshops for Rongoā Māori - Traditional Māori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Māori and non-Māori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (forest). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoā, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
