Built in 1922, Balmoral’s heritage-listed Capitol is Auckland’s second oldest cinema. Renovated most recently in 2009, the cosy 130-seat cinema is plush with large comfortable seating and original decor.

Special events such as Friday Night Frights, Met Opera screenings, partnerships with Cazador Restaurant, and also  Pitchblack Playback, a unique audio experience where you can hear upcoming and classic album releases loud, in full, in the dark, on a great sound system — with no distractions.

$15 adult admission with concessions available. Special events have their own pricing

A series of practical workshops for rongoa Maori - Traditional Maori Medicine. Workshops are taught in the bush in a supportive and encouraging environment for both Maori and non-Maori participants. All workshops are run over a weekend and are held in the ngahere (bush). The aim is to teach people how to identify the plants used for rongoa, where to find them, and how to collect them and the tikanga (customs) that must be followed.
