There is nothing like Butterfly Creek in NZ where visitors can experience a huge range of attractions from zoo exhibits to fun attractions including a train, playground and café.
Lots to see here but the classic attraction is one of the largest tropical butterfly houses in New Zealand. The butterflies are imported as pupae from butterfly farms all around the world, but primarily from Asia and Central America. The butterfly house is temperature controlled to approximately 28 degrees Celsius and has high humidity to replicate the conditions of the butterflies’ natural environment. Inside the tropical butterfly house you’ll also find, finches, water dragons and variety of fish. Don’t forget about the cute otters and Cotton Top Tamarin monkeys among other surprises!
